Deanna Surber

Deanna Surber is very happy to be singing this very well-known beautiful score and to be performing once again with the Tennessee Valley Players. Favorite roles include Lilly/Kate (Kiss Me, Kate), Reno (Anything Goes), Sister Mary Amnesia (and Sister Hubert!) in several versions of (Nunsense), and Edwin Drood (The Mystery of Edwin Drood). Having once enjoyed a professional career in theatre, living and studying in New York, she was part of a National Tour playing Laurey in Oklahoma! After many years performing, Deanna is now creating a career of teaching both private voice using the Somatic Voicework (sm) The LoVetri Method with a focus on Musical Theatre style as well as Performing Power, a technique designed for opera and musical theatre students. Deanna has a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Tennessee in theatre as well as an master of fine arts degree from Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Many thanks for this opportunity and support from family, Deanna would like to dedicate the joy of performing this role to the memory of both of her grandmothers who loved to say, 'Deanna, get up and sing!'
